Poem: Forest Wanderer

Leaves of rust, the smell of earth

the forest shows me this life’s worth.

The boughs above, the clouds so high,

the shining sun is fair and bright.

The breeze, it whispers,

through leaves so green,

the sweetest song of birds unseen,

from nut and acorn to the mighty oak,

the forest wanderer’s chosen home.
