Book Review: Radical Self-Love by Gala Darling

I loved this book so much that I devoured it in two days. It really did exactly what it promises: it made me realise just how much I need to celebrate myself, and how I deserve it. We all need to show ourselves not just a little love, but A LOT of love!

Part memoir, part ‘self-help’, Radical Self-Love follows Gala’s own journey from struggling with depression and an eating disorder to truly empowering herself.  She is unique, quirky, fun and utterly beautiful.  Her stories and advice are heartfelt and sincere, and full of positive encouragement.

“To put it simply, you gotta be in love with your wonderful self. You should be able to look in the mirror, pout, flick your hair, wink at yourself and think, Babe, you are divine.” – Gala Darling

This book covers everything from style advice to relationships, from manifesting your dreams to falling madly in love with yourself. This isn’t about flashy, superficial ego-desires: this is about deep healing through a genuine love, and acceptance, of yourself. A lot of us find it difficult (myself included) to acknowledge ourselves, let alone love ourselves, but this book really shifted my perspective and because of that I have actually found (or rediscovered) more fun and magic in life.

This is a must read for everyone, but particularly those who lack confidence, or suffer with status anxiety and low self-esteem.  Reading this was like a dawning rainbow of light in my consciousness and I have smiled – inwardly and outwardly – a hell of a lot more since!

Not only is it OK, but the Universe wants you to go forth and be bold, brave and beautiful!

Happy reading! As always, let me know in the comments what you think!

With love,
